Cedar Park Police Offer $2,000 “Sign On” Incentive
On August 18, 2006, at a special budget workshop meeting, the Cedar Park City Council approved a $2,000 hiring incentive that would be available to all police officer candidates hired after August 1, 2006. To be eligible for the incentive, a police applicant must successfully complete the full hiring process and the subsequent Field Training Program conducted by the Department. A candidate would receive the $2,000 incentive pay upon his/her completion of the Field Training Program. The candidate must remain employed by the Police Department for a minimum of 2 (two) years. If a candidate leaves the Department before the two year time period, he/she would be responsible for paying back the amount of the incentive.
