Mayor Bob Lemon was first elected to the City of Cedar Park City Council in 1995. He served four full terms, appointed Mayor Pro Tempore from 1997 until 1999. Stepping away from city council for several years, but remaining highly active in the community, Mayor Lemon decided once again to run for public office in May of 2005, winning the uncontested mayoral race.

As Mayor and previously as a member of the council, Mayor Lemon’s chief objectives have been and remain improving transportation and roads in Cedar Park, maintaining sufficient water supply, improving the wastewater infrastructure, and ensuring the ongoing progress of economic development in the city.

Aside from his service with the city council, Mayor Lemon also has a great deal of experience in the regional political arena, serving with the Williamson County Senate District 25 Convention and the Texas Republican State Convention, as well as a past member of the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Mayor Lemon has also been actively involved in the Cedar Park Athletics and Fellowship of Christian Athletes Booster Clubs, as well as the Buttercup Creek Neighborhood Association, serving as both president and vice-president.

Mayor Lemon holds a BS in Computer Science from State University of New York in Brockport, New York and a BA in Sociology/Political Science from Houghton College in Houghton, New York. Professionally, he has served as a software engineer since 1977, working with many regional companies such as IBM, Pencom, ProTrader Securities, Tandem Corporation, all of Austin, and MD Totco here in Cedar Park.

Mayor Lemon’s wife of 20 years, Patti, is actively involved in the Cedar Park Athletics and Fellowship of Christian Athletes Booster Clubs, serves on the Williamson County/Cedar Park YMCA Board of Directors, and is a founding member of the Cedar Park 4thof July Committee. In 1998, Governor George W. Bush appointed her to the Home and Community Support Services Advisory Council and in 2001 was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the Nursing Facilities and Administration Advisory Council.

Bob and Patti have three daughters, Grace, Faith and Rachael Hope.
