Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Cedar Park Public Library is a non-profit supportive group of volunteers. It was established in September 1980 to promote the library within the community.
Purpose:
To support and strengthen the Library's resources and services to the public and business communities and to promote public recognition and awareness of these resources and encourage Cedar Park citizens to support their Library.
Funding:
To work with diversified sources of revenue including special events, programs and projects dedicated to and supported by special business interests in the community in addition to minimal membership dues.
Community Relations:
To exert a positive effort in the public, professional and business sectors to foster goodwill and wider recognition of the Library's capabilities, improve community relations and acquaint the community with the Library's services.
Development:
To encourage the development of a modern Cedar Park Public Library, improvements to the facility and to the services offered.
Organization:
To work cooperatively with the Library Director, professional staff and volunteers to achieve the Library's goals.
Membership:
To reflect diversity of the public and business communities and to volunteer and support the Library in a variety of ways.
Projects & Activities:
To promote projects that enhance the relationship of the Library with the general public, schools and the business community; to make available financing for special programs, events and activities sponsored by the Library; to support minor building enhancements and equipment not included in the Library's budget.
