Mission Statement:
The Cedar Park Public Library Foundation, founded in 1993 as a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation, is committed to assist the Library in achieving excellence and to develop business/ community support through financial assistance for Library initiatives.

The Library Foundation board meetings quarterly on the last Monday of the month at 7:00 pm at the Library in January, April, July, and October.  All are welcome to attend.

Goals

Raise funds to equip and maintain a state-of-the-art Library.
Encourage public interest in the Library and promote its objectives.
Advocate for the Library.
Develop strategic and funding plans to meet Library goals, objectives, and initiatives.

Michele Glaze, Dell Giving manager, presented a Dell Literate Community Grant in the amount of $25,000 to Pauline Lam, Library Director (center), Rich Carroll, President of the Library Foundation (left), library staff and Foundation board members.

Endorsements
The Cedar Park Public Library Foundation Board of Trustees approved the following policy on April 26, 1999:

The Cedar Park Public Library Foundation was founded to assist the Library in achieving excellence, effectiveness, and efficiency in its programs and develop broad-based support and financial; assistance for Library initiatives. To that effect, the following policy has been developed for Foundation board members.

The Cedar Park Public Foundation shall be non-partisan and non-political and shall take no part in or lend its influence or name to the election or appointment of any candidate for elected political office.

THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES:
Meets four times a year at the Library on the last Monday of the first month of each quarter. Members are expected to attend regularly. All terms are staggered for three years.

Working Board Committees:
Donor Relations: Interface with local businesses and the Chamber of Commerce to obtain and increase financial support for the Library.

Finance and Grants: Develop a fiscal plan through budgeting, fundraising, grants and endowments. Review grants, budgets, annual tax returns, and routine financial reports. Fiduciary oversight.

Special Events and Marketing: Identify, assess, and oversee fundraising ideas. Coordinate with marketing. Set up committees for event efforts.

Non-Profit Relations: Develop ongoing partnerships with other non-profits for mutually benefiting fundraising.

Membership: Reviews and interviews prospective board members and is proactive in recruiting working members. Presents nominations to the board.

Categories of Membership
Individual: Persons who have a strong interest in supporting the Library with their knowledge, time and money. Exceptional contributions over time may be recognized by an Emeritus position.

Organizational: The Library, Cedar Park City Council, and the Chamber of Commerce have ex-officio memberships.

Business Representation: Underwriter businesses may become ex-officio members on a yearly basis, or they may nominate a representative from their company for full board membership.
